Hire Assistant - Equipment Hire Team

About the role

A builder's equipment hire team in Melbourne's inner east is looking for an enthusiastic Hire Assistant to assist with all aspects of customer service. Experience with equipment is not essential, as all training is provided for a willing and able learner. The role suits someone with retail or hospitality experience who enjoys variety and has an interest in mechanics and/or trades, and who shows a strong customer service ethic. It is a full-time, five-day-per-week position.

Key responsibilities

• Deal directly with customers and understand and solve their equipment needs
• Handle basic administration of hire contracts
• Hand over equipment, including giving customers instructions for use
• Load and unload customers in the hire yard and help prepare equipment for hire
• Deliver and collect equipment from customer sites using company vehicles (drivable on a standard car licence)

Required profile

• Strong customer service ethic and enjoyment of solving problems
• Mechanically minded and enjoys working with your hands
• Able to communicate clearly while remaining personable
• Enthusiastic, self-motivated and eager to earn responsibility
• Current driver's licence with a good record; other training is arranged and paid for the right candidate
