High Voltage Electrical Maintainer

About the role

Rio Tinto is seeking a High Voltage (HV) Electrical Maintainer to ensure the safe, reliable and efficient operation of electrical and HV assets across the Pannawonica site. This permanent position works on an 8‑days‑on / 6‑days‑off roster with a day‑shift (6 am–6 pm) and includes optional residential living.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct inspections, scheduled and breakdown maintenance on HV equipment.
• Support project upgrades and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Troubleshoot faults and restore equipment to minimise downtime.
• Maintain transmission and distribution infrastructure up to 132 kV, including transformers and specialty apparatus.
• Provide electrical support to mechanical and hydrocarbons teams.
• Ensure compliance with site standards and safe work practices.

Required profile

• Strong commitment to personal and team safety.
• WA A‑Grade Electrical Licence (mandatory).
• Current manual driver’s licence.
• Demonstrated experience in electrical and industrial maintenance, preferably in a similar environment.
• Experience with PLCs and SCADA systems.

Required skills

• PLC programming and operation.
• SCADA system familiarity.
• HV switching qualification.
• Knowledge of electrical transmission and distribution systems up to 132 kV.
• Transformer and specialty apparatus maintenance.
• Power quality monitoring and management.
