Heavy Vehicle Teacher – Workplace Delivery

About the role

This full‑time position is based at Bendigo Kangan Institute’s Automotive Centre of Excellence in Docklands. You will deliver and assess heavy‑vehicle mechanical technology training, linking industry practice with classroom learning and supporting apprentices and learners in an applied environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, manage and report on workplace visits, allocating students to mentors and tracking progress.
• Deliver and assess training in heavy‑vehicle mechanical technology, ensuring safety and industry relevance.
• Maintain training records, contribute to quality and compliance requirements, and support students with administration and coordination tasks.
• Build and sustain relationships with learners, employers and colleagues, and stay connected to industry through professional development.

Required profile

• Extensive trade experience in heavy vehicles (must have).
• Relevant heavy‑vehicle qualification.
• Current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or willingness to obtain it.
• Current driver’s licence and right‑to‑work documentation.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engaging with employers and learners.
