Heavy Plant Equipment Fitter - Perth Metro

About the role

An Australian-owned specialist foundation engineering and piling contractor, operating across Australia and New Zealand, is looking to add a trade-qualified Fitter to its team in Maddington. The role suits someone wanting consistent hours (50+ per week) and day-to-day variation while still going home each night. It involves maintaining a wide range of mobile plant, including cranes, excavators and specialised piling equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Preventative maintenance, servicing and repairs
• Hydraulic, electrical and mechanical diagnostics
• Breakdown support
• Machinery overhauls and modifications
• Repairing pumps, cylinders and valves
• Accurate reporting and record keeping

Required profile

• Trade-qualified HD Fitter with demonstrated experience with heavy equipment
• Ability to fault find and strong knowledge of hydraulics
• Willingness to learn on the job and a laid-back attitude to changing demands
• Physically fit and able to work extended hours, including OT and Saturdays when required
• Positive personality and good communication with colleagues and customers
• Any experience with CAT, Cummins, Duetz Volvo, Soilmec or Bauer machines is highly regarded
• Occasional travel to remote sites for breakdown repair is required

Required skills

• White Card
• Forklift (LF), EWP and working at heights licences
• Dogging and crane tickets are advantageous but not essential
