Heavy Duty Fitter - Underground and Surface (FIFO)

About the role

Catalyst Metals, a gold mining and development company, is hiring an HD Fitter for its underground and surface maintenance team. The role covers a wide range of mining equipment in a modern six-bay steel workshop with a dedicated parts store, and offers FIFO rosters of 8:6/7:7 or 2:2 days. Flights depart directly from Perth, and accommodation is provided on site.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, servicing and breakdown repairs on mobile mining equipment, including underground and surface fleets
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and hydraulic faults across the fleets
• Maintain and repair Sandvik drills, load and haul equipment, Normet charge rigs, Volvo ITs and CAT and Volvo ancillary equipment
• Complete scheduled maintenance inspections and component change-outs
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
• Contribute to continuous improvement and equipment reliability programs
• Work with Operations and Maintenance teams to maximise equipment availability
• Carry out all work in line with site safety standards, procedures and legislative requirements

Required profile

• Australian recognised Heavy Duty Diesel Fitting trade qualification
• Previous experience maintaining underground mining equipment
• WA C-Class driver's licence and Dangerous Goods Security Card (DGSC)
• Ability to work autonomously and to plan
• Desirable: tyre fitting qualifications, experience with Sandvik underground equipment, load and haul equipment, drill rigs and ancillary fleet, and experience in computerised maintenance management systems
