Health and Safety Business Partner

About the role

Estia Health is looking for a Health and Safety Business Partner to help deliver a safe and healthy workplace and sustainable performance across its aged care homes. The role partners with frontline leaders through stakeholder engagement, building capability, specialist advice and coaching. It can be based in Brisbane or Gold Coast and is hybrid, with about three days per week of travel to homes in those areas.

Key responsibilities

• Give proactive advice and support to operational leaders and employees on health, safety and wellbeing issues
• Analyse and report on workplace incidents, hazards and injuries and related trends
• Advise on complex claims and safety matters and ensure incidents are investigated promptly with corrective actions implemented
• Report notifiable incidents to the state regulator and internally as required
• Support the injury management specialist with early intervention of injuries
• Work with the National Health and Safety Manager and HSW team on risk reduction and improvement programs
• Model safe practices such as consultation and hazard identification to foster a safety culture

Required profile

• Experience in a WHS and injury management/rehabilitation role with proven results
• Customer service approach, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and proactive attitude
• Outstanding written and verbal communication and ability to engage internal and external stakeholders
• Planning, time management and prioritisation skills

Required skills

• Interpreting and applying WHS and workers compensation legislation
• Incident investigation and reporting
