About the role

The Head of Performance leads Sunshine Coast Lightning’s high‑performance program, shaping a strategy that drives elite athlete success. Reporting to senior leadership, this role creates a world‑class environment that integrates physical, technical, tactical and behavioural standards across the club’s senior and reserve teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain integrated team plans in collaboration with the Head Coach and performance staff.
• Monitor and manage individual athlete load using wearable devices, force‑plate data and self‑reported wellbeing metrics.
• Design weekly training schedules, coordinate specialist service providers, and ensure compliance with Netball Australia regulations.
• Lead athletic performance testing, interpret results and adjust training programs using evidence‑based methods.
• Support modified training for injured players and oversee return‑to‑play protocols.

Required profile

• Proven experience in high‑performance sport environments, preferably at senior or head‑level.
• Strong collaboration skills with coaches, operations, and medical staff.
• Ability to translate data insights into actionable training plans.
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities.

Required skills

• Experience with wearable performance tracking devices.
• Force‑plate data collection and analysis.
• Load‑management and athlete monitoring technologies.
