Head of Finance

About the role

The Head of Finance is a key member of Arch LMI’s Finance Team, responsible for all aspects of financial control, reporting and regulatory compliance. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial & Customer Officer, this role leads the finance function and promotes professional growth within the team.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with Arch LMI’s overall strategy.
• Oversee end‑to‑end financial reporting to senior management and the Board/Committees.
• Lead preparation and filing of quarterly and annual statutory financial statements with ASIC and other jurisdictions.
• Ensure compliance with APRA prudential standards and other regulatory requirements.
• Partner in annual capital and financial budgeting and quarterly re‑forecasts.
• Coordinate with external and internal auditors, managing audit results and communications.
• Maintain internal accounting policies and procedures to meet emerging reporting standards.
• Manage recruitment, training, performance management and rewards for the finance team.
• Oversee payroll obligations in partnership with third‑party providers and HR.
• Supervise taxation calculations and liaison with Group Tax and external tax advisors to ensure ATO compliance.

Required profile

• CA ANZ/CPA credential with public accounting experience.
• 10‑15 years of experience in GAAP/Statutory accounting, preferably within insurance.
• Strong knowledge of taxation accounting and regulations.
• Proven leadership experience dealing with board directors, regulators, investors and auditors.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across all organisational levels.

Required skills

• Knowledge of GAAP, US GAAP, IFRS 17, Sarbanes‑Oxley and Australian Accounting Standards.
• Experience with general ledger applications and statutory reporting software.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
