Head of Finance

About the role

Ignition is seeking a strategic and hands‑on Head of Finance to lead its finance function at the intersection of SaaS, AI, payments and embedded fintech. Reporting to the CFO, you will own the finance foundation while driving smarter planning, stronger economics and scalable operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high‑performing finance team across accounting, FP&A, billing, treasury and finance operations.
• Own financial reporting, control and compliance under US GAAP, IFRS and ASC 606, ensuring timely close and audit readiness.
• Drive budgeting, forecasting, long‑range planning and scenario modelling using SaaS and fintech metrics.
• Oversee billing operations, revenue recognition and treasury functions, managing banking relationships and cash positioning.
• Build an AI‑native finance function, improving ERP, planning systems and reporting tools, and embedding automation across forecasting, close and analysis.
• Support M&A diligence, fundraising, investor reporting and strategic finance projects.

Required profile

• 10+ years of progressive finance experience, including senior leadership in controllership, FP&A or strategic finance.
• Strong background in SaaS businesses with deep understanding of recurring revenue models and subscription metrics.
• Expertise in payments, billing infrastructure or embedded fintech economics.
• Proven ability to build teams, improve systems and scale finance in a high‑growth environment.

Required skills

• US GAAP, IFRS and ASC 606 revenue recognition.
• Experience with Xero, ERP and modern planning/reporting platforms.
• AI‑enabled finance automation and workflow design.
