Head of Department – Student Engagement (2 positions)

About the role

Kruger State School is seeking two Head of Department, Student Engagement leaders to drive inclusive, supportive learning environments. One role focuses on digital learning engagement, the other on the Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) framework. Both positions aim to improve student wellbeing, attendance and outcomes across a diverse student body.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for innovative engagement initiatives, including digital technology integration or PBL implementation.
• Prepare data returns for senior management as required.
• Monitor individual student performance and behaviour, designing and applying targeted intervention strategies.
• Collaborate with parents, higher‑education institutions and the State Schools Division to enhance learning outcomes and attendance.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience leading school‑wide digital learning programmes (for the digital‑focused role).
• Demonstrated experience leading whole‑school implementation of the PBL framework and Fisher's Dimensions of Belonging (for the PBL‑focused role).
• Strong commitment to equity, supporting students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
• Excellent relationship‑building skills with students, families and community partners.
