Head of Credit - Auto Finance

About the role

A recruitment firm is hiring, on behalf of its client, a Head of Credit for a forward-thinking auto finance organisation based in North Sydney, NSW. The role leads a credit risk team in a high-energy setting, focusing on risk excellence, process optimisation and stakeholder engagement within auto finance operations.

Key responsibilities

• Guide and develop analysts through targeted coaching, training and performance strategies.
• Conduct in-depth analytical reviews of transactions to support robust decision-making.
• Track market developments and refine policies to maintain optimal performance.
• Supervise high-volume deal processing to meet productivity objectives.
• Join select external meetings with sales to demonstrate operational expertise.
• Nurture strong, service-oriented relationships with brokers and partners.

Required profile

• Seasoned professional with substantial auto finance expertise.
• Deep experience in auto financing through broker, private sale and supplier channels.
• Proven leadership in team building, including coaching, training and performance enhancement.
• Willingness to take part in partner visits with sales and to maintain excellent service relationships with external stakeholders.

Required skills

• Overseeing high-volume underwriting workflows.
• Strong analytical capability for detailed transaction assessment.
• Knowledge of vehicle categories and current market trends, including risk tools.
