Financial Lines Underwriting Manager, NSW/ACT

About the role

Zurich is looking for a Financial Lines Underwriting Manager to lead its NSW/ACT Financial Lines portfolio within Commercial Markets. The role drives profitable growth, shapes underwriting strategy, strengthens market presence and delivers results for customers, brokers and Zurich. It brings together underwriting, sales and broader business teams to build a strong pipeline of opportunities and a high-performing, customer-focused culture.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the profitable growth and performance of the NSW/ACT Financial Lines portfolio
• Drive execution of underwriting strategy and go-to-market initiatives across the business
• Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, customers and key stakeholders
• Support business retention and new business acquisition through active market engagement
• Coach, develop and retain underwriting talent while fostering a culture of continuous learning
• Monitor portfolio performance and deliver key financial and operational objectives

Required profile

• Extensive Financial Lines underwriting experience in insurance or broking environments
• Proven experience leading and developing high-performing teams
• Collaborative, commercially minded leader who combines strategic thinking with a hands-on approach

Required skills

• Strong technical expertise across Financial Lines products and portfolio management
• Demonstrated success delivering profitable growth and executing business strategy
• Strong stakeholder management and market-facing relationship skills
• Commercial acumen with data-informed decision making
