Head of Compliance & Risk

About the role

Peninsula, a legal services provider within the Employsure group, is hiring a Head of Compliance & Risk in Sydney. You will lead the design, implementation and continuous improvement of the compliance program and risk frameworks, with a strong focus on sales and marketing processes, so that customer acquisition, promotional practices and go-to-market strategies align with regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and upskill the Compliance and Risk team while ensuring timely completion of compliance and risk tasks and reporting.
• Engage proactively with stakeholders and business units to build a strong compliance and risk culture and drive continuous improvement.
• Develop, uplift and embed compliance and risk frameworks across the wider organisation.
• Facilitate compliance and risk workshops and training sessions.
• Report to the Board on adherence to compliance processes.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience leading, managing and developing compliance teams.
• 5+ years in a compliance role, including at least part of that time in business-to-consumer roles.
• Ability to be both strategic and hands-on in delivering objectives.
• Well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust across disciplines.
• A continuous improvement mindset and a high level of initiative.

Required skills

• Extensive experience developing, embedding and advising on compliance and risk obligations, processes and controls.
