Head of Communications and PR, APAC

About the role

OKX, a leading crypto exchange and developer of OKX Wallet, is seeking an entrepreneurial Head of Communications for APAC. This senior leader owns and drives the regional communications strategy and execution and plays a pivotal role in global and regional PR initiatives. Candidates based in Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia (Sydney or Melbourne preferred) are encouraged to apply.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of OKX's APAC communications strategy, setting direction and delivering results across the region.
• Serve as the senior communications voice for APAC, working with marketing, product, legal, compliance and local market leads.
• Build and lead a communications function, including managing PR agency relationships across the region.
• Leverage media contacts in Australia, Singapore and broader APAC, including business, broadcast, financial and crypto media, to drive high-impact coverage.
• Cultivate relationships with editors, journalists and influential industry voices, placing stories in top-tier general media and leading crypto publications.
• Contribute to global comms/PR initiatives and help amplify global campaigns across APAC.
• Activate PR opportunities through global partnerships such as McLaren F1 Team and Manchester City FC.
• Write and oversee PR plans, press materials, executive messaging and content for key announcements, and ensure brand consistency.
• Track, report on and influence media coverage to align with business objectives.

Required profile

• 12-15 years of experience in PR and communications, with a background in financial services, fintech or technology; crypto experience preferred.
• Experience running regional and global PR campaigns that generate significant, high-quality media coverage.
• Experience with investment and financial communications.
• Team management experience and the ability to lead, mentor and inspire.
• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism or a related field.
• Fluent in English; other languages are an advantage.
