Communications and Content Lead, ANZ (Remote)
Employment Hero · Sydney
Job description
About the role
Employment Hero is looking for an experienced communications and content professional to lead regional strategy and implementation for its Australia and New Zealand market. The role owns the ANZ communications and content programme end to end, from earned media and agency relationships to the content supporting marketing KPIs, and drives earned coverage across traditional and new media. It is remote-first and fast-paced.
Key responsibilities
- Lead ANZ communications and content strategy, prioritising stories, campaigns and content that build reputation, credibility and commercial results.
- Own consistent messaging and narrative across communications and content, working with other marketing channels.
- Lead PR for integrated campaigns and activations, including major brand moments, building earned media in from the brief.
- Manage media relations and earned coverage: pitching, interviews, measuring results, maintaining a proactive story pipeline and handling reactive enquiries.
- Own the ANZ content strategy and oversee all content, tracking and reporting against marketing KPIs.
- Manage PR agency relationships with the ANZ Communications Manager, setting briefs and ensuring value.
- Use internal data such as the Employment Index to back up credible, well-sourced stories.
- Support media opportunities and local engagement for spokespeople including the CEO and regional MD.
- Be the first point of contact for reputationally sensitive media issues in ANZ.
- Track and report coverage, share of voice, content performance and campaign results.
- Manage the ANZ content marketing team, directing strategy and production and reviewing all content.
- Work closely with the ANZ Communications Manager, marketing leadership and the global communications team.
Required profile
- 8+ years' experience in senior communications and content leadership roles, owning regional strategy and being accountable for commercial results.
- Strong command of earned media strategy and strong commercial acumen linking activity to marketing and business KPIs.
- Lateral thinking, sound judgement under pressure and sharp editorial instinct.
- Experience across strategic direction and hands-on execution, and collaboration across teams without direct authority over every part of the outcome.
What we offer
- Remote-first environment with autonomy and decision-making power.
- Access to AI tools and technology.
- ESOP (employee share options).
- Comprehensive benefits including generous parental leave, subsidised egg freezing and a home office allowance.
