Head of Commercial & Contract Administration

About the role

The Head of Commercial & Contract Administration will lead the commercial and contractual framework for the Darwin Ship Lift, a critical national maritime infrastructure project slated to begin operations in 2027. Reporting to senior leadership, this role shapes the commercial model and ensures readiness for a high‑profile, government‑linked facility.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement commercial strategy, pricing frameworks and demand forecasting models.
• Establish user agreements, licensing regimes and commercial conditions of use.
• Lead full‑lifecycle contract management, including negotiation, administration and dispute resolution.
• Act as primary liaison with legal advisors and translate legal advice into operational controls.
• Create auditable commercial systems, board‑level reporting and align them with ISO and Defence qualification requirements.
• Support commercial, regulatory and operational risk frameworks and engage with government, Defence and industry stakeholders.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in commercial and contract management within complex or regulated environments.
• Proven ability in contract negotiation, dispute management and regulatory compliance.
• Leadership experience in infrastructure, asset‑intensive or government‑facing sectors (preferred).
• Strategic, pragmatic and delivery‑focused mindset.
