Gyprock Trade Store Manager (Hobart, TAS)

About the role

The Gyprock Trade Centre Store Manager is a full-time position based at the Hobart, TAS store, reporting to the Area Manager. The role suits someone with proven supervisory experience, a strong focus on safety and excellent communication and computer skills. Leadership experience is valued, and management experience in retail or a trade centre is preferred.

Key responsibilities

• Safety: champion safety compliance, look after the wellbeing of the team, customers and the public, and run regular site safety walks.
• Staff management: recruit, train and supervise employees so they deliver excellent customer service and perform their duties effectively.
• Sales and marketing: oversee sales, promote the store and its products, support marketing campaigns to drive traffic and increase sales, develop new accounts and use analytical tools to make informed business decisions.
• Financial management: monitor the store's P&L performance and make decisions to improve profitability.
• Compliance: ensure the store complies with all relevant laws, regulations and company policies.
• Customer deliveries: coordinate and support customer deliveries as required.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading or supervising a team.
• Ideally a retail or trade background.
• Comfortable using retail systems (experience highly regarded).
• A valid forklift licence is desirable.
• Understanding of the Chain of Responsibility (CoR) and transport regulations.
