Group Tax Lead

About the role

Join a well-established Australian business as the Group Tax Lead, managing a broad range of tax responsibilities within a collaborative finance team based in Preston.

Key responsibilities

• Manage income tax, GST, and FBT compliance and reporting obligations.
• Prepare and review tax calculations, tax effect accounting, and deferred tax balances.
• Support year‑end and month‑end tax reporting requirements.
• Assist with tax governance, risk management, and compliance processes.
• Partner with internal stakeholders and external advisers on tax‑related matters.
• Contribute to transfer pricing, Pillar Two, and R&D tax projects.
• Monitor tax legislative changes and assess business impacts.
• Drive continuous improvement of tax processes and controls.

Required profile

• Strong practical capability across accounting and tax work.
• Demonstrated experience with income tax, GST, and FBT.
• Understanding of tax accounting, including deferred tax balances.
• CA or CPA qualified (or near completion).
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Hands‑on approach with willingness to learn and develop.
• Background in Big 4 or mid‑tier tax practice preferred.
