Group Financial Controller - Sydney CBD (Hybrid)

About the role

A growing business at a pivotal stage of its journey is looking for an experienced Financial Controller to join its finance function, reporting directly to the CFO. The role leads the finance team through its next phase of growth, with a strong focus on process improvement, team development, financial control and operational excellence. It suits someone who wants to drive efficiency and partner with senior leadership on strategic initiatives, rather than just maintain the status quo. The position is based in Sydney CBD and is hybrid.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the finance team
• Own month-end, management reporting and financial control
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management
• Manage statutory reporting, audit and compliance requirements
• Drive automation and process improvement initiatives
• Improve reporting efficiency and quality
• Partner with senior stakeholders across the business
• Support strategic projects and future growth initiatives

Required profile

• CA / CPA qualified
• Current Financial Controller or Group Financial Controller
• Proven experience in a complex multi-entity environment
• Strong technical accounting, compliance and reporting background
• Track record of improving finance processes, systems and controls
• People leadership and stakeholder management skills
• Comfortable leading change and driving accountability within a finance team
• Commercially minded with a hands-on approach
