Group Financial Controller

About the role
This Darwin‑based senior position provides financial leadership across the DCOH Group, reporting directly to the CFO and overseeing financial reporting, governance, compliance and risk management.
Key responsibilities
- Manage month‑end and year‑end close processes, delivering consolidated reporting packs and statutory financial statements.
- Oversee statutory compliance, taxation obligations, audit processes and regulatory reporting.
- Control accounting operations including AP, AR, payroll, treasury, revenue recognition and cost accounting.
- Maintain and strengthen financial controls, governance frameworks, accounting policies and procedures.
- Provide financial analysis, insights and recommendations to support strategic decision‑making.
- Lead, mentor and develop the central finance team, fostering a high‑performance culture.
- Drive continuous improvement of finance systems, reporting processes and operational efficiencies.
- Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning across the Group and collaborate with business unit finance leads.
Required profile
- CA or CPA qualification (or equivalent) with a tertiary degree in Finance, Accounting or related discipline.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in accounting and finance, including senior leadership roles.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge of AASB, IFRS, taxation and statutory reporting.
- Proven experience managing audits, governance frameworks and financial control environments.
- Experience overseeing banking, cash‑flow management and financial risk activities.
- Commercial acumen with ability to analyse performance and identify improvement opportunities.
- Experience in construction, property development, hospitality or project‑based environments is highly regarded.
