Graduate Mining Engineer

About the role

Barminco, part of the Perenti Group, is recruiting a Graduate Mining Engineer for its underground hard-rock mining business. The graduate program gives hands-on experience in underground mining and soft skills, with graduates rotating through underground roles while also taking an office-based role focused on optimising mine processes and project engineering.

Key responsibilities

• Rotate through underground roles, learning safe, industry-leading practices and teamwork.
• Build the experience needed to sit the First Class Mine Manager's Certificate or Underground Supervisor's Certificate of Competency.
• Take an office-based role to optimise mine processes and develop project engineering skills.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering.
• Previous site experience working underground or in open pit.
• A strong desire to expand practical underground knowledge.
• Ability to meet site access requirements, including medical, DAS, NPC and a valid manual driver's licence.
• The right to work permanently in Australia.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the MS Office suite.
