Graduate Civil or Mechanical Engineer (Water Infrastructure)

About the role

AECOM is expanding its Water Infrastructure team in Townsville, Queensland, due to continued growth across its ANZ Water business. The group delivers projects in water and wastewater treatment, major conveyance, industrial, civil infrastructure and mining, working with clients across Queensland and nationally. The graduate joins the team alongside experienced engineers and technical specialists, with mentoring and guidance from industry experts.

Key responsibilities

• Support the preparation of feasibility studies, concept and detailed designs, and construction support.
• Assist with design development across water infrastructure projects such as pipelines, pump stations and treatment plants.
• Work with civil, electrical, process and mechanical engineers across Queensland, Australia and internationally.
• Take part in site visits, surveys and project meetings with clients, contractors and suppliers.
• Contribute to design reviews and project activities including HAZOPs, HAZIDs and other safety and design workshops.

Required profile

• Final-year or completed Bachelor's or Postgraduate degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering.
• Full working rights to work in Australia or New Zealand; student and graduate visa holders are not accepted.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, a proactive and adaptable mindset, and a commitment to professionalism and integrity.
