Grade 1 Dental Assistant

About the role

Hunter New England Oral Health is looking for experienced Dental Assistants to join its growing team across multiple clinic locations in the Newcastle and Hunter region. You will report to the Clinic Coordinator and carry out a mix of clinical and administrative duties, working alongside dentists, oral health therapists and dental prosthetists. Clinic hours vary slightly by location, running from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM or 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the dental team during procedures and support the day-to-day operation of the dental unit.
• Maintain a clean and organised environment.
• Ensure patients receive a seamless and positive experience.
• Provide clinical and administrative assistance to the dental team.

Required profile

• A current Dental Assisting Certificate (up to Certificate III) recognised by the Dental Assistant Education Council of Australia, or an experienced dental assistant without formal qualifications.
• Demonstrated understanding of infection control principles.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team setting.
• Positive attitude and genuine passion for dental care.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
