Glass Cutter / Material Handler

About the role

A Western Australian flat glass processor and double glazer is expanding its glass processing and production team due to continued growth. It is recruiting across several production functions, including Glass Cutting and Material Handling, and matches successful applicants to the role that best fits their experience and skills. This is a hands-on manufacturing role working alongside experienced team members to safely process, move and prepare glass products. Day and afternoon shift opportunities are available.

Key responsibilities

• Manually handle and safely move glass products, using appropriate lifting techniques and two-person lifts where required
• Load and unload glass from processing machinery
• Cut, process and prepare glass products to specification
• Check, measure and inspect glass for quality, identifying marks, scratches and other defects
• Safely stack and move finished products
• Use machinery and equipment as required
• Use scanners and complete production paperwork to track and process jobs
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe production area
• Follow procedures and workplace safety requirements, wear PPE and assist colleagues

Required profile

• Reliable, punctual and takes pride in their work
• Physically capable of regular manual handling
• Comfortable in a hands-on manufacturing environment
• Follows instructions and works to production specifications
• Works well as part of a team

What we offer

• Day shift rates from $36.96 per hour; overtime available
• Day shift Monday to Thursday 6:00am to 2:30pm, Friday 6:00am to 12:00pm; afternoon shift Monday to Thursday 2:25pm to 11:10pm, Friday 12:00pm to 5:00pm
