Geologist - Operations (Jundee, FIFO Perth)

About the role

Northern Star Resources is looking for a Geologist - Operations to join its Jundee operations team. Reporting to the Senior Geologist, the role sits within a well-resourced geology team of 40+ professionals and works on an 8:6 FIFO roster from Perth. The position is permanent and full-time, with a competitive salary, quarterly bonus and private health insurance.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver accurate production data, forecasts and daily reports.
• Check headings where it is uncertain whether ore is present in the broken rock and clearly communicate the results to the production team.
• Identify underground opportunity structures, interpret and mark them up, wall-map them and coordinate survey to pick them up, then pass the information to the Senior Geologist.
• Reconcile development and stope production tonnes and grade back to the grade control model as part of the end-of-month reconciliation.
• Log and supervise underground diamond drilling programs.
• Interpret data regularly and share relevant information with Senior Geologists, Planning Engineers, Surveyors and Mine Foremen.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Geology.
• 1 to 2 years of practical experience in underground mining, preferably in gold operations.
• Current WA C Class manual driver's licence.
• Sound understanding of QA/QC processes and industry best practices.
• Strong communication skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced operational environment.

Required skills

• Exposure to Leapfrog and Datamine is highly regarded.
