About the role

Provide high-quality primary healthcare within an immigration detention centre, delivering comprehensive care to a diverse patient population while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Manage acute and chronic medical conditions, including mental health and substance use concerns.
• Deliver preventative health services, chronic disease management, immunisations and trauma‑informed, person‑centred care.
• Provide clinical guidance and support to onsite healthcare staff.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) with unrestricted registration on the Medical Board of Australia.
• Relevant GP Fellowship or equivalent qualifications and experience.
• Experience handling complex medical and mental health presentations.
• Commitment to safe, ethical and patient‑centred care.

Required skills

• Opioid substitution treatment prescribing authorization or willingness to obtain it.
