General Manager – Projects, Operations & Growth

About the role

Grand Ridge Arenas & Excavations is seeking a commercially‑minded General Manager to drive the next phase of growth. This senior, hands‑on position blends operational leadership, project delivery and business development in civil construction and earthworks.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, support and develop a small operational team.
• Plan daily workloads and coordinate employees, subcontractors, suppliers and equipment.
• Oversee projects from enquiry, site inspection and estimating through to completion.
• Identify, prepare and submit tenders and commercial proposals.
• Prepare project estimates, quotations, budgets and work programmes.
• Identify new clients, markets, partnerships and growth opportunities.
• Manage project timelines, resources, costs and profitability.
• Recruit and grow the team in line with workload and expansion.
• Develop and improve operational systems, processes and reporting.
• Maintain safety, quality and compliance across all sites.
• Operate excavators, dozers, skid steers or other machinery when required.

Required profile

• Experienced leader with a practical, hands‑on approach to construction projects.
• Comfortable preparing tenders, managing budgets and driving business development.
• Ability to work closely with the Director on strategy and growth.
• Willingness to be on‑site and operate machinery as needed.
