General Maintenance Technician – School Facilities

About the role

We are looking for a self‑motivated General Maintenance Technician to keep the school buildings and grounds safe and functional. The role is part‑time (Monday, Wednesday & Friday) and involves both independent work and teamwork within the school environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain building systems such as air‑conditioning and pumps.
• Carry out repairs to locks, windows, lighting, woodwork and other building elements.
• Perform routine grounds work including mowing, pruning, weeding, planting and litter removal.
• Estimate repair costs, document work performed and complete daily maintenance reports.
• Handle, store and distribute materials, and move equipment or furniture as required.
• Assist with improvement projects such as fencing, paving and gardening.
• Train new staff in grounds‑keeping duties and drive school vehicles when needed.

Required profile

• Experience in general maintenance of school grounds and buildings.
• Knowledge of electrical, plumbing and general trade maintenance.
• Understanding of machinery and equipment used for building upkeep.
• Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team.
• Current NSW driver’s licence and own vehicle.
• Current Working with Children Check (paid employment) and willingness to provide an International Police Check if required.
