Full‑time Secondary Teacher (Years 7‑10)

About the role

St Francis Flexible School is hiring a continuing full‑time teacher for its new North West Campus in Wynyard, starting January 2027. The role delivers flexible, trauma‑informed secondary education for Years 7‑10 students who have disengaged from mainstream schooling.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver effective learning and teaching programs tailored to individual strengths, interests and learning styles.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of EREAFS objectives and campus planning.
• Collaborate with youth workers and staff to maintain a safe, inclusive environment for both staff and students.
• Build proactive relationships with students, families/carers and the community to achieve the best outcomes for each young person.

Required profile

• Eligibility for registration with the Teachers Registration Board of Tasmania.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications and demonstrated ability to develop and implement diverse learning choices.
• Proven skill in differentiating the Tasmanian curriculum to meet varied student needs.
• Successful experience building relationships with at‑risk youth and strong interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to critical reflection under the Four Principles of operation (respect, safe & legal, honesty, participation).
• Current Working With Children Check (or eligibility to obtain one).
