Full Stack Software Developer

About the role

Join a mission‑critical team delivering technology solutions that support Australian Defence capability. Based in Canberra, you will design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable, and high‑performing software that underpins defence systems and operational capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain front‑end interfaces and back‑end services using modern frameworks.
• Translate functional and technical requirements into robust, maintainable code.
• Build and integrate RESTful APIs, microservices and database solutions for distributed, mission‑critical applications.
• Participate in the full Software Development Lifecycle, including design, development, testing, deployment and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with software, systems, cyber and infrastructure specialists in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand‑ups and code reviews.
• Continuously optimise application performance, security and usability.

Required profile

• Australian citizen with at least an AGSVA NV1 security clearance (NV2 preferred).
• Proven experience as a Full Stack Software Developer, Software Engineer or Application Developer delivering enterprise or mission‑critical solutions.
• Strong knowledge of modern front‑end technologies and secure coding practices.
