Front of House Team Member

About the role

A new burger restaurant called Romeo's is opening in Manly in November, and the team behind Norma's Deli is looking for a friendly, switched-on Front of House Team Member. You will be the first face customers see, recommending menu favourites, keeping the venue looking its best and helping the kitchen when it gets busy. Full-time, part-time and casual roles are available.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome new and regular customers with friendly, professional and engaging service
• Share menu knowledge and recommendations, and keep customers up to date on specials and promotions
• Process orders and payments accurately on the POS
• Work closely with the kitchen team to keep service quick and smooth
• Help in the kitchen when needed, including operating the fryer, glazing doughnuts and packing takeaway orders
• Make sure every order reaches the customer quickly and correctly
• Keep the venue clean and inviting, and keep the counter, fridges and displays tidy, stocked and labelled
• Restock supplies such as drinks, napkins, cutlery, glassware and takeaway packaging
• Wash, sanitise and put away dishes and utensils, empty and reset bins, and complete set-up and pack-down checklists each shift
• Keep the stockroom clean and organised

Required profile

• 2 years' experience in a similar customer-facing role
• Experience in a fast-paced kitchen or hospitality environment
• Good knowledge of WHS, food hygiene and efficient kitchen processes
• Warm, outgoing personality and genuine love of customer service
• Strong attention to detail, reliability, punctuality and a team-first attitude

Required skills

• Confident use of a POS system and handling transactions
• Knowledge of WHS and food hygiene
