Founding Centre Director – Early Childhood (Mandurah & Kwinana)

About the role

Bright Steps Academy is expanding into Western Australia and needs an experienced leader to establish two brand‑new early childhood centres in Mandurah and Kwinana. As the Founding Centre Director you will guide the set‑up phase, build teams, and create welcoming learning environments before transitioning to lead one of the sites full‑time.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the establishment of two new centres, including recruitment, onboarding and team culture development.
• Implement operational systems, processes and compliance frameworks to meet EYLF, NQS and national regulations.
• Drive occupancy growth and engage families to build community connections.
• Create safe, stimulating environments for children, families and staff.
• After launch, serve as Centre Director at one location while mentoring the second centre’s leadership team.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education and Care (or ACECQA‑approved equivalent).
• Previous experience as a Centre Director or senior leader in early childhood education.
• Strong knowledge of EYLF, NQS, National Law and Regulations.
• Proven ability to lead teams, improve performance and foster a positive culture.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.

Required skills

• Understanding of early childhood curriculum frameworks (EYLF, NQS).
• Experience with compliance and regulatory processes in early childhood settings.
