Food Services Assistant / Cleaner

About the role

Southern Cross Care is hiring a Food Services Assistant and a Cleaner for its Oaklands Park aged-care facility in South Australia. This is a permanent part-time position split between two roles: Food Services Assistant (FSA) and Cleaner. The schedule alternates between the two roles each week.

As a Food Services Assistant, you will support the delivery of high-quality catering to residents by assisting with food preparation, meal service and keeping the kitchen clean and safe, following food safety and hygiene standards. As a Cleaner, you will provide housekeeping services such as dusting, mopping, vacuuming and cleaning bathrooms to keep the home fresh and safe.

Required profile

• Previous experience in cleaning, food handling or kitchen roles
• Clear communication skills in English, especially with older people
• Strong time management and the ability to work independently
• A basic understanding of how to support residents living with dementia
• A respectful, team-oriented approach
