Food Safety Team Leader (12-month fixed-term)

About the role

Redox, an ASX-listed raw material and ingredients distributor with locations across Australia, New Zealand, Asia and North America, is looking for a Food Safety Team Leader to join its QA team in Minto, South-West Sydney. This is a 12-month fixed-term position working in a hybrid workplace, and the role complements the existing team in upholding and maintaining food safety compliance across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a comprehensive Quality Assurance/Quality documentation control program for food ingredients and raw materials supplied by the business
• Maintain live Aust Food and Grocery Council (AFGC) PIF forms for active food products
• Ensure the Food Safety Management System (FSMS) is implemented, maintained and updated
• Initiate, review and follow up preventative and corrective actions to meet regulatory requirements
• Chair Food Safety Committee meetings and report on the status and effectiveness of the FSMS
• Provide professional food safety support to staff, customers and suppliers
• Prepare, lead and coordinate internal and external quality audits
• Coordinate the implementation and maintenance of the Food Defence Plan
• Review Food Safety Inspection Reports and follow up on corrective actions
• Operate within company procedures and highlight opportunities for operational efficiency

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Food Science or Technology
• Previous experience in food safety, quality assurance and audits
• Exceptional verbal and written skills, excellent time management and high attention to detail
• Ability to prioritise, analyse and solve problems, and communicate with staff at all levels

Required skills

• Intermediate computer literacy in the Microsoft suite
• Fast and accurate data entry
