Food & Beverage Restaurant Manager

About the role

The Food & Beverage Restaurant Manager will lead the daily operations of the Qantas Lounge at Canberra Airport, delivering a welcoming pre‑flight experience for guests. This hands‑on leadership position requires a passion for hospitality and the ability to manage a front‑of‑house team in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead by example to provide efficient, friendly, and professional food & beverage service.
• Oversee front‑of‑house operations, ensuring smooth service and adherence to standards.
• Support menu planning with the culinary team and coordinate staff events and lounge activations.
• Manage purchasing, pricing, and stock levels within approved budgets.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, workplace health and safety, and hygiene requirements.
• Handle guest feedback, resolve concerns, and act as the primary contact for operational stakeholders.

Required profile

• Relevant hospitality management qualification (Diploma or higher).
• Minimum three years full‑time experience in restaurant, cafe, hotel, or airport lounge management.
• Proven ability to lead teams, manage budgets, and maintain stock control.
• Current RSA certification or ability to obtain one.
• Willingness to work a rotating roster including weekends and public holidays.

• Stock control and inventory management.

• Knowledge of food safety and responsible service of alcohol.
