First-Year HVAC Apprentice

About the role

Crest is offering a four-year apprenticeship leading to a Certificate III in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration (UEE32220). It combines on-the-job training with qualified and experienced technicians and three years of part-time formal study at an elected TAFE, with workplace and worksite rotations across a variety of environments.

Key responsibilities

• Learn to diagnose faults, repair, test and maintain domestic, commercial air conditioning, mechanical ventilation and water heating and cooling systems
• Read and interpret installation plans for new systems and servicing of existing ones
• Study refrigerated systems that cool and heat water and air
• Take part in commissioning, including testing and balancing of air and water distribution

Required profile

• Recently completed Year 11 or Year 12, ready to start in January 2027
• Drivers licence and own transport
• White Card
• Enjoys working outdoors and is physically fit for manual tasks
• Able to travel to worksites and work in a team
• Punctual, reliable and committed to completing the apprenticeship
