Fire Services Technician

About the role

Thiess is seeking a Fire Services Technician to maintain fire suppression systems on its mining fleet across Queensland. The role ensures that all systems are in top condition to protect personnel and assets in the event of a machine fire.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain fire suppression systems to the highest standard.
• Work across multiple mining sites, delivering consistent quality.
• Provide recommendations for maintenance improvements.
• Stay updated with technical and product changes.
• Perform ad‑hoc inspections and repairs during spare time on site.

Required profile

• Certificate II in Fire Protection Inspection and Testing.
• Current driver’s licence (Standard 11 certification desirable).
• Proactive safety attitude and commitment to a positive safety culture.
• Effective communication with suppliers, subcontractors, clients and internal teams.
• Responsible operation of a Thiess vehicle on public roads.
