Cyber Defence Analyst

About the role

As a Cyber Defence Analyst you will strengthen Origin’s security resilience by monitoring threats, investigating suspicious activity and responding to incidents across endpoint, network, identity and cloud environments.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and tune security tools, triage alerts and escalate threats based on risk and business impact.
• Investigate incidents, gather evidence and coordinate containment and response actions with system owners.
• Conduct proactive threat hunting using telemetry, behavioural analysis and logs to uncover suspicious activity and control gaps.
• Assess threat and vulnerability advisories, supporting priority responses and improvements to security controls.
• Maintain reliable security tooling and clear investigation records, sharing insights to improve detections and operational processes.

Required profile

• Curious, analytical and calm under pressure with strong problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Hands‑on cyber security experience or substantial experience in related technology fields such as OT, cloud, end‑user computing or network infrastructure.
• Relevant degree in Information Security, IT, Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent experience.

Required skills

• Experience with SIEM and EDR tools.
• Familiarity with cloud security tools and log analysis.
• Working knowledge of cloud, identity and endpoint security, vulnerabilities and attacker techniques.
