Fire Safety Engineer

About the role

AECOM is seeking Fire Safety Engineers to join its Buildings and Places team in Australia. The role involves applying fire engineering expertise across large‑scale projects from concept through to construction and occupation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver performance‑based fire design briefs, assessments and technical reports for diverse building and infrastructure projects.
• Conduct fire engineering analysis, including computational modelling of fluid flow, fire dynamics and evacuation as required.
• Collaborate with senior team members, support project management, and mentor junior engineers.

Required profile

• Experience delivering fire safety projects within a consulting environment.
• Relevant engineering qualification (preferably fire engineering) and strong knowledge of the Building Code of Australia.
• Proven ability to prepare performance‑based design briefs, fire engineering reports and strategies.
