Financial Controller

About the role

The Financial Controller provides strategic and operational support to the Head of Finance for Trapeze Group ANZ and leads a small finance team. The role ensures accurate reporting, strong controls, compliant payroll, cash management and continuous improvement across finance operations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all finance functions, prepare monthly and quarterly reporting, including tax packs, financial analysis, balance‑sheet and income‑statement analytics, and variance analysis.
• Manage cash flow, forecasts, intercompany charges, fixed‑asset write‑offs and act as bank signing authority in Australia.
• Ensure compliance with payroll, tax, BAS, FBT and other statutory requirements; maintain audit readiness and internal controls.
• Lead, coach and develop the finance team, allocate work, set priorities and drive performance outcomes.

Required profile

• CPA qualification or equivalent degree.
• Proven experience managing and developing finance teams.
• Strong knowledge of financial management principles, controls, reconciliations and statutory reporting.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines and stakeholder expectations.
