Financial Controller

About the role

Cooinda Lodge Kakadu is seeking a highly capable and commercially minded Financial Controller to lead the finance function of this unique resort in Kakadu National Park. The role focuses on maximizing profitability, ensuring compliance, and providing strategic financial insight to senior leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the General Manager and hotel leadership to support financial strategy, performance, and decision‑making.
• Deliver accurate weekly, monthly and annual financial reports to Accor and ownership groups.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow management and financial planning processes.
• Oversee payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance and alignment with legislative requirements.
• Provide financial guidance on Management Agreements, Owners Corporation matters and HMA compliance.
• Drive continuous improvement across financial systems, controls, policies and reporting.
• Support department heads with financial analysis, reporting and commercial insights to improve profitability.
• Ensure compliance with Accor financial policies, WH&S obligations and all relevant statutory and legislative requirements.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or related discipline.
• CA or CPA qualified.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards, compliance obligations and statutory reporting.
• Understanding of state and federal legislation for tax, superannuation, long service leave and National Employment Standards.

• Proficiency with accounting and payroll systems – Sunsystems, PurchasePlus, OperaCloud.
