Financial Accounting Manager

About the role

genU, a profit-for-purpose organisation that reinvests its success into disability and aged care support and community initiatives, is seeking an experienced Financial Accounting Manager to lead its Financial Accounting team. The role provides financial leadership, governance and commercial insight that supports business performance and decision-making. It is a full-time fixed-term position until June 2027, paid $146,348-$162,308 plus superannuation and NFP salary packaging benefits.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing Financial Accounting team, with coaching, mentorship and strategic financial leadership across the organisation.
• Oversee statutory reporting, annual financial accounts and external audit processes, ensuring accuracy, governance and compliance.
• Drive financial reporting and analysis that supports decision-making and organisational performance.
• Strengthen financial controls, risk management and financial systems to improve efficiency and compliance.
• Provide expert guidance on taxation, government funding and strategic initiatives, including complex financial and commercial matters.

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualified, with tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline.
• Proven ability to interpret complex business drivers, risks and financial impacts and turn them into clear recommendations for stakeholders.
• Demonstrated experience leading teams, setting priorities and building collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• NDIS Worker Screening Check and Orientation Module Certificate required; genU will help guide candidates through this.
