Financial Accountant

About the role

The Financial Accountant will join Iress' Group Finance team, supporting transformational change across the organisation. You will be responsible for applying accounting standards, preparing financial statements and providing insight to senior leaders.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver monthly financial insight, journal entries, ledger analysis and reconciliations for business partners, leadership teams and regulators.
• Support the preparation and audit of annual and half‑year financial statements for the group and APAC subsidiaries, including the listed‑entity Interim and Annual Reports.
• Maintain balance‑sheet items such as working capital, fixed‑asset registers, intangibles, capitalised development costs, receivables and payables.
• Assist the treasury function with cash‑flow management, intercompany transactions and debt management.
• Contribute to finance system improvements and provide financial analysis for business initiatives, restructures and M&A activities.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary degree (e.g., Bachelor of Commerce/Economics) and professional qualification (CA, CPA) or postgraduate degree.
• Proven experience in financial analysis, general‑ledger posting, account reconciliation and applying accounting standards.
• Strong organisational skills, ability to meet tight deadlines and work independently.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with NetSuite and Adaptive Insights (preferred).
• Technical accounting knowledge and ability to interpret accounting standards.
