About the role
The Department of Children and Families is seeking a Financial Accountant to deliver high‑quality financial accounting, reporting and governance services for two of its departments in Darwin. The role involves collaborating with internal stakeholders, managing financial data, and ensuring timely and accurate reporting to support the agency’s objectives.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain financial accounts in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards.
- Ensure compliance with the Treasurer’s Directions and Northern Territory legislative and policy guidelines.
- Provide professional financial advice to support informed decision‑making.
- Produce financial reports and governance documentation for senior management.
Required profile
- Experience at Administrative Officer 6 level (as indicated in the vacancy).

What we offer
- Remuneration package ranging from $117,546 to $130,843 per year (including base salary $99,519 to $110,953).
