Finance Manager

About the role

Squadron Energy, Australia's leading renewable energy company, is looking for a Finance Manager to report to the Head of Commercial Performance. The role covers business units including development, delivery, operations and energy markets, supporting financial planning, management reporting and performance analysis for selected units. It also involves developing business cases and providing commercially focused insights.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare management reports and analytics on commercial performance, financial targets and key business priorities
• Coordinate budget and business plan inputs with assigned business units
• Prepare monthly management reporting and performance forecasting
• Prepare cash flow and debt service coverage ratio (DSCR) analysis for Treasury
• Track value lever initiatives and transformation projects, such as the revenue impact of power purchase agreements and other product structures
• Maintain asset models and business case updates, with sensitivity and scenario analysis
• Maintain financial controls and ensure compliance with company policies and governance requirements
• Design and implement systems, data and process improvements
• Partner with business unit leaders and project teams to improve financial performance and support decision-making

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, commerce or a related discipline
• CA, CPA or equivalent professional qualification, completed or nearing completion
• Five or more years' experience in professional services, audit, transaction services, financial advisory, management accounting, commercial finance or a comparable corporate environment
• Experience preparing or reviewing management reports, budgets, forecasts and financial analysis
• Experience in energy, infrastructure, construction, utilities or another capital-intensive sector is desirable but not essential

Required skills

• Strong financial analysis, management reporting, budgeting and forecasting
• Strong Excel, including financial models, reconciliations, data analysis and scenario modelling
• Knowledge of SAP, Power BI, Databricks and AI applications is highly desirable
• Ability to interpret complex financial information and communicate clearly to non-financial stakeholders
