Finance Associate – Graduate Accountant

About the role

Kaizen Recruitment is supporting a leading Australian private markets investment manager with a rare opportunity for a high-calibre graduate or early-career accountant to join its finance team. The client is an established fund manager investing across Australia and New Zealand, partnering with management teams to drive growth and long-term value. The role offers broad hands-on exposure, close mentorship from senior finance professionals and a foundation for a career in accounting and finance.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily accounting functions including accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations and general bookkeeping
• Prepare monthly management reports for senior leadership review
• Process monthly payroll
• Assist with tax obligations (BAS, FBT, payroll tax and income tax) and liaise with external tax advisors
• Support the annual financial audit, including working with external auditors and reviewing financial statements
• Assist with risk management activities such as insurance renewals
• Support compliance activities, including AML and financial services regulatory requirements

Required profile

• Degree in Commerce, Business or similar, with a major in Accounting
• Minimum distinction average at university
• Prior accounting experience is advantageous but not essential
• Australian permanent residency or citizenship
• Motivated, detail-oriented, with strong organisation, time management and communication skills

Required skills

• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Accounting knowledge (bookkeeping, payroll, tax)
