FIFO Maintenance Supervisor – Remote Site

About the role

Join Sodexo as a FIFO Maintenance Supervisor at our remote site in Weipa. You will lead a skilled maintenance team to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations across the facility.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily maintenance activities, ensuring work is completed safely and to specification.
• Plan, schedule, and prioritize preventative and corrective maintenance to minimise equipment downtime.
• Lead, mentor, and develop maintenance team members.
• Conduct equipment inspections and troubleshooting to resolve issues before they impact operations.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports, and compliance documentation.
• Promote and enforce workplace health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Manage maintenance budgets and optimise resource allocation.
• Coordinate contractors and specialist service providers.
• Monitor maintenance performance and identify continuous‑improvement opportunities.
• Build strong relationships with operational stakeholders to achieve maintenance objectives.

Required profile

• Trade qualification in Plumbing, Electrical, HVAC or Carpentry.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience supervising maintenance teams in industrial, mining or facilities‑management environments.
• Previous FIFO or remote‑site experience.
• Strong knowledge of building, mechanical and electrical maintenance systems.
• Experience planning and scheduling preventative maintenance programmes.
• Proficiency with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
• Excellent leadership, communication and people‑management abilities.
• Strong organisational, planning and problem‑solving skills.
• Sound understanding of workplace health and safety legislation.
• Ability to analyse maintenance performance and drive continuous improvement.
