Field Service Technician - Residential (Engine)

About the role

Cummins is looking for a residential field service technician in Karratha. You will work on engine and related components in the field, diagnosing faults, carrying out repairs and performing preventative maintenance, while engaging customers courteously and professionally.

Key responsibilities

• Engage customers in a courteous and professional manner and anticipate their needs promptly.
• Use specialised tools and follow documented procedures to diagnose and complete repairs, including identifying and preparing the required parts and tools.
• Perform preventative maintenance on engines and related components according to documented schedules and standards.
• Escalate unresolved issues to more experienced field service technicians or the supervisor.
• Complete documentation such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims and quality documents by hand or through the business system.
• Identify additional service opportunities with the customer and complete in-workshop repairs as required.
• Maintain the service vehicle and tools for cleanliness and proper operation.
• Follow Health, Safety and Environmental policies and report incidents to site management and the supervisor.
• Complete training in line with skill and business requirements.

Required profile

• Apprentice-trained engine technician (Cert III) or equivalent.
• Intermediate level of workshop or field service experience.
• Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products.
• Heavy vehicle experience preferred; HR license preferred.
• Valid local driver's licence required.
