Field Service Engineer – Medical Equipment

About the role

As a Field Service Engineer for GE HealthCare, you will install, maintain and repair ultrasound, anaesthetics and monitoring equipment in hospitals and private practices across Sydney and regional sites. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality service, building strong customer relationships and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Install GE HealthCare medical equipment to company and customer standards.
• Perform preventative maintenance and corrective repairs on ultrasound, anaesthetics and monitoring devices.
• Complete Field Modification Instructions and related documentation on time.
• Escalate missed response times and recurring faults to senior engineers and service managers.
• Collaborate with online, regional and senior field engineers to resolve issues quickly.
• Communicate updates to management and commercial account managers.

Required profile

• Biomedical, electronic engineering or equivalent electrical trade qualification.
• Early‑career program completion or up to 3 years of field service experience.
• Strong communication skills and a customer‑focused, problem‑solving mindset.
• Self‑starter attitude with the ability to work independently and follow‑up reliably.

Required skills

• Experience with ultrasound, anaesthetics or monitoring equipment (preferred).
• Knowledge of medical IT systems, computer hardware, operating systems, TCP/IP, Wi‑Fi and medical networks.
• Excellent verbal and written English.
• Solid organizational and time‑management abilities.
