Facility Support Worker - Aged Care (Aurukun)

About the role

selectability is seeking a facility support worker to join its team in Aurukun, Far North Queensland, supporting the delivery of high-quality aged care services. The role works closely with a multidisciplinary team to help older persons live with greater independence and dignity, and respects their cultural backgrounds. It is open to both FIFO (fly-in, fly-out) workers and local candidates.

Key responsibilities

• Cleaning and keeping the facility in good order
• Garden maintenance
• Assisting with transportation
• Supporting kitchen duties as needed

Required profile

• Previous experience in a similar role (highly desirable)
• Previous experience working in remote areas (desirable)
• Flexible to work across a 24/7 roster
• Clear, effective communication skills
• Understanding of the Aged Care Quality Standards
• Ability to work independently, manage time, follow policies and procedures, and work with culturally and linguistically diverse communities

Required skills

• NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or ability to obtain)
• NDIS Worker Orientation Module "Quality, Safety & You" completion certificate (or ability to obtain)
• Current nationally recognised First Aid and CPR certificate (or ability to obtain)
• Current minimum P1 "C" class Queensland driver's licence

What we offer

• FIFO: 6 weeks on, 2 weeks off roster, free accommodation, all travel and meals covered, above-award wages
